Preterm Labour: An insights into Vaginal Infections
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Preterm births result from preterm labour. The chief causes of new-born neurological morbidity and transience are prematurity low birth weight. Vaginal infections considered as a higher risk factor for pre term labour is less common when proper antenatal examination, screening lower urogenital tract infections, early treatment carried out. Methods: Group B streptococcus (GBS), Urea plasma urealyticum, Mycoplasma genitalium, Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Treponema pallidum, bacterial vaginosis, herpes simplex virus (HSV) I II, were all examined in vaginal swab samples A control group 81 expectant mothers underwent GBS test. Tests the antimicrobial propensities GBS, U. urealyticum M. hominis conducted. Results: 8.70% PTL-WO, 16.33% S-PTB, 11.70% M-PTB, 17.29% had GBS. 13.04% 18.37% 17.65% M-PTB hominis. was detected by PCR culture 52.17 percent 48.98 55.88 M-PTB. 17.39% PTL-WO patients, 4.08% S-PTB 5.88% patients C. trachomatis. Monilia found 4.3% 6.12% This examination failed to discover N. HSV I, T. or pallidum; no additional bacteria viruses either. Conclusions: Lower pregnant women should be tested for, especially high-risk situations. When genitourinary treated fast, prematurity-related infant mortality decreased, common. What have we learned about vaginal infections and preterm birth?
Asymptomatic maternal genital tract infection during pregnancy, particularly bacterial vaginosis, has been consistently associated with preterm birth. In response to this evidence, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network (MFMU) designed and conducted 2 large randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials of metronidazole treatment of asymptomatic pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis or tri...
متن کاملManagement of preterm labour.
The above quote testifies to the complexity of preterm labour, a process that ultimately results in considerable neonatal morbidity and mortality. It is diYcult to quantify the incidence of spontaneous preterm labour, as many studies relating to preterm birth do not discriminate between spontaneous preterm labour and iatrogenic/therapeutic preterm delivery. The picture is further complicated as...
متن کاملPathophysiology of preterm labour.
A specific pathogenic process of premature delivery represents the inflammation. Birth canal infections seem to play a key role in the ethiopathogenesis of premature delivery; the related biochemical changes significantly affect perinatal morbidity and mortality. Other potential causes, particularly hormone metabolism disorders or uteroplacental ischaemia have been intensively studied. This pro...
متن کاملPatterns of cetacean vaginal folds yield insights into functionality
Complex foldings of the vaginal wall are unique to some cetaceans and artiodactyls and are of unknown function(s). The patterns of vaginal length and cumulative vaginal fold length were assessed in relation to body length and to each other in a phylogenetic context to derive insights into functionality. The reproductive tracts of 59 female cetaceans (20 species, 6 families) were dissected. Phyl...
متن کاملHorseshoe Placenta and Preterm Labour: A Case Report
Background and aim: Horseshoe placenta is a variant of ring-shaped placenta. Ring-shaped placenta is a rare anomaly seen in fewer than 1 in 6000 deliveries, which could be seen as horseshoe shape due to atrophy in a portion of the ring. This report refers to a possible relationship between the horseshoe shape placenta and preterm labor; although it has not been yet validated in the literature. ...
